Postby theMGMT » Tue Mar 05, 2013 7:56 pm

I need to destroy some of my own walls so I can put a gate there. It's taking forever to destroy it. Any tips, tools, or tricks to destroying walls? My phlegm is 27 btw

Since you don't get any destruction-bonus for buildings on your property (though you should, IMO) every wall you build is as hard for you to destroy as it is for an enemy.

Any wall that is NOT a total pain in the ass for you to remove will be completely ineffective against an attacker. (Although it does suck having to take down 4 chunks of stone wall in order to place a gate you forgot to add.)

Anything in the game currently is just a deterrent, anyway. Unless you have a town bell active, anyone with any skills (and significant phlegm) can smash through any existing fence at any time they want. If you just want to keep the scrubs out, I'd suggest going with something you can easily remove. Once you get a mine or enough silver income to start buying up iron bars, you should then replace it with plank or stone fences and put up as many braziers as you can afford to keep most everyone else out, too.

My theory is: if you allow easier access, the raider is less likely to just smash everything out of spite. I've been raided a few times, and only one of those was it anything more than taking the "valuables." It doesn't always work, either. Some people are just looking to drive people out of the area or play mad dictator, and anything you build will probably get torn down in those cases.
