Hello!
I have looked everywhere on the forum and i got two different answears to my question, so sorry if i am to dumb to understand or the question is already answeared but;
Does fertilizing affect the purity of your crops, or is it just random?
Read some posts saying it does, and some others saying it's been changed and does not affect, and instead is just random.
Thank you in advance for the reply.

Belongs in help.
Used to affect purity, but doesn't now.

Yeah, this should be in Help. It doesn't affect the purity of crops planted in fields but does affect the purity of crops planted in gardening pots.

I dumped 15 pieces of 10/10/40/40 (high in sulfur/lead) dross from my mine onto a field planted with 0% pure cereal seeds. The harvested grain ended up slightly rich in Salt.
That's pretty conclusive that the purity of ferilizers has absolutely no effect whatsoever on the purity of field crops.

So, just how do you influence the purity of farm crops?
Is it in the compost bin in the humus produced and preparing a field using that humus? Or is it stored in each field?
How do you make a conscious effort to for example develop a crop purer in one of the elements?

Crop purity is determined by seed purity. Seed purity is very similar to, but randomly different in a small way, the seed purity of the seeds you planted to get them. So you just have to plant something, select the highest purity seeds that resulted, plant those, and iterate until you're making oatmeal moonshine.

So, is there no effect from using high purity humus to start the field?

You have to apply a "selection pressure". Use the seeds only from the crops of the highest desired purity from each harvest.
The more fields you have, the better: You are more likely to get a beneficial change, and the bonus will be greater. Replant only your best seeds and dispose of the rest in whatever way you see fit.
