I have build some boxes and things, and now I want to move them around. I know I can "Lift," and then place them down by right clicking, but they end up messy and off-kilter. How do I turn them and place them carefully (like by holding shift, which you can do when you first build things)?

While they are over your head right click them. This will give you a copy of it as if you were building it. Use shift rotate and ctrl rotate to find the perfect placement and click the spot when you get it to your liking. It should place it the way you set it up.
