Town Bell - What advantages?

Hello,

I see a lot of references to the fact that town bells offer the ultimate defense. Could someone explain to me why?

I understand that it would prevent someone from putting a claim over a personal claim, but is there anything else to it?

Thanks,

Glooms

You can't destroy objects on town claim unless they're also under an active waste claim, and a waste claim takes 24h to activate after it's built.

Hmm do waste claims need their own village claim to be built? Or can they be built anywhere?

I may have misunderstood what a waste claim is. I was under the impression it was just a personal claim set next to another, used as a tactic for griefing or taking over the land. Not the case?

It is a special kind of claim that allows people with the vandalism skill to commit vandalism on another person's village claim.

Its a completely different type of claim, meant to overlap Village claims entirely to allow waste. It makes a 1000x1000 claim come down in the direction the claim faces. Anything on a village claim that falls under the waste claim can be broken by raiders after the waste claim is active.
