High(ish) humor food

Postby wormcsa » Sun Mar 03, 2013 12:26 pm

Hi,
I raised my humors to around 120 with Sevenless' suggestions (merc mushroom pie, pumpkin pie, cabbage cake.) But now mushroom pies, in particular, aren't really getting the job done (or at least soon won't,) even with 10% mushrooms. I've been thinking salt dragon's breath for red and salt cabbage crumbs for yellow. Am I on the right track or what do people use at higher levels? Also, I see a lot of mention of raising field influence, but I don't understand the purpose of raising anything except for cabbage crumbs. Sorry if there are similar threads already I looked, but couldn't find any...

Thanks

also, don't you mean cabbage crumbs? cabbage cakes are extremely good for black bile, but won't give any other humour at all.

As far as I see it, cabbage crumbs all the way for ybile, cabbage cakes all the way for black bile, pumpkin pies for phlegm & blood (needs both sulphur & lead pumpkins)
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

If you have all or most crops above 50%, you can get to 200-250 fairly easily from only using:

Blood: Salt colewort leaves, Salt white cabbage leaves, Salt green cabbage leaves, Lead pumpkin pies
Phlegm: Merc Pumpkin pies, Merc Red Cabbage leaves
Yellow Bile: Merc colewort, Merc pumpkin flesh, Salt cabbage crumbs
Black Bile: Cabbage cakes and Sulphur pumpkin flesh

This only requires you to tier up cabbage fields:

Cotton bar filled first then cabbage makes Green Cabbage
Pumpkin filled first then cabbage makes White Cabbage
Both filled first make Red cabbage
<milonti> Psshh, tears are tier 5 products.

Ah, great thanks that's very helpful. Do people typically mix these or does the invariance not matter much? Is dragon's breath inferior for blood or just not worth the extra effort?

Mix them depending on how many ticks they have. Longest to eat first. Invariance doesn't matter TOO much until you're above 100 or trying to eat a lot of lower purity foods. If i remember right, it's 6-8 ticks per invariance level when eating?

So let's say you're doing yellow bile at 300 with 70ish% purity food, you can eat 2 crumbs, get 1-2 invariance (which is ok since they give such huge amounts of biles), then swap to merc cabbage leaves (3-4 before you get to invariance 1 again since all cabbage leaves eat in 2 ticks), then repeat with green and then white cabbage leaves. You'll most likely hit that 300 and get a point before you even get to using the white cabbage leaves.

Dragon's Breath Salads are good for blood, but I don't use them because I hate pottables and how much of my time and beautiful humus they take. I'd rather dump that humus on fields for plenty and influence, but they eat fast and are a pretty decent food bile-amount-wise if you have the space and patience for em.

Edit: also what dallane said about that particular list, they all eat crazy fast except for the crumbs

Ornery covered what I was going to say.

Also want to re-iterate potted plants. The time and effort to make mass production foods using anything requiring these (except maybe lead sugar caps in early-mid age of a server) makes them bad.
