Sorry,I know this was covered somewhere but I cannot find it. I saved my pennies and bought some higher purity seeds but the purity is dropping with each successive planting. What am I doing wrong?

plant multiple fields and keep the best for seeds/replanting. Which elements will be raised or lowered is random - the more fields you plant the higher the likelihood that you get one or more that raise the target element.

You are probably just having bad luck. When you harvest, pick out the best seeds/ears/pumpkins/etc, and extract the seeds from them without mixing them. I wouldn't reccomend using seed bags unless you were just making mass amounts of seeds for composting or something.

I am carefully watching the seeds but maybe I am crazy here.... they had a high sulfur content and were 91 percent pure when I bought them. I planted and harvested and they now have 87 percent purity. Does it matter what was planted on the field previously?

It doesn't matter for purity what was planted before. Just plant the 87% ones back and they may well rise in purity again. Like Staxjax is saying, you have to have a bit of luck sometimes.

I always plant 95%+ seeds, and I've seen them drop into the 70s before. Just ****** luck is all.

Yeah, I don't like to plant less than 8 fields at a time of something to keep the purity from going down. And even then, it still happens now and then.
