Warning: Do not raise 1 humor's level way above the others!

Image

This is not a guide, just a cheat sheet.
Much of the information out there is outdated or confusing, this should make things a bit easier.
If the image doesn't make sense to you go to: Sevenless' Guide: Humor/Gluttony section and read.

Graphical improvement suggestion:

Add a little arrow turning counter-clockwise in the middle of the Humours to show the Blood -> Phlegm -> YellowBile -> BlackBile ordering more clearly. That's how I do it in my head. I imagine like it's the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th quadrants of the Cartesian coordinate system.

Maybe also add a line about "Gluttony cost is equal to your highest Humour".

Thanks for the great visual!

May I ask if I could use that picture for the UI thread? I'm of the opinion that the colors on black and phlegm are swapped and it should see a change at some point in the future, but for now, it's a great demonstration of what a person is looking at.

Also: it should be noted "way above" would be about double the lowest stat. As skills go up and more foods become available, it's very easy to fix. Early on, the first 10 hours or so, more than a point or two difference may make getting other stats harder, but phlegm won't be used for much until you start trying to get a settlement together.

I just created a new character 24 hour ago and logged about 10 hours game play. My highest stat is phlegm (7). Why? because everyone plays this SANDBOX game differently. I like to explore the map, study along the way while using WANDER. Guess which stat is most important for me in this case? That's right, phlegm. To say that phlegm won't be used much in the early game is an incorrect statement. It depends on how you prefer to play this SANDBOX game.

Thanks for the great visual aid! Another tip that new players may find helpful is to be aware of the gluttony "game" when each event fires. You need to pay attention to which events will be most beneficial to your goals and watch to see which color fires when the food is consumed. Recognizing this and preparing for the results of different events will help you maximize food usage to achieve the results you desire.

That isn't used much. You're phlegm and ybile are both drained for forage, blood and phlegm for wander, and along with all the studying you're doing, you're refilling it all up, anyway. Compare to just leveling out an area for something like a kiln. You'll use an hours worth of phlegm in 'wander' in under 5 minutes. I still say very early game that you don't use much phlegm. Keep it leveled out with everything else, but you're not going to be eating just to refill your phlegm much until you start settling down in one place.

MagicManICT: Yes, use this image all you like (I slapped the date in the bottom corner to make it more obvious if it has become outdated).
Anyone else: Use the image wherever you would like. Edit it, slap your name on it, put animated dancing pandas around it, I don't mind. This was about 15 minutes of playing around in Photoshop.
Raising stats "way above": Again, I didn't want to make a guide, just threw this together really fast to compliment guides that are already out there. The warning will hopefully get people who are experimenting with gluttony to read one of the available guides before making a mistake that hurts their ability to raise stats, but you are correct. In the early levels it shouldn't be a problem. :D

I was super sleep deprived when I put this together, I'm glad people are finding it relevant. :D

Thanks. One of my goals has been to get some screenies of the different UI elements and explain them, but I've been really lazy about it the last few months.
