I'm sure it's already been posted somewhere, but what is the easiest way to obtain Law and Lore points? Most of the recipes are pretty advanced. Any suggestions?

If you go into pine forests or the autumn woods (orange and full of maples), you can find Singing Old Logs on the ground and in stumps. Those are great for law and lore as soon as you pick them up. You also sometimes get a perfect autumn leaf while foraging for things in autumn woods or a cross shaped wood splinter when cutting down a tree.

I know this is a noob question, but when people say "foraging", is that another word for scavenging or do they mean selecting "foraging" in the action menu?

You can do both. I usually use wandering if the forest is big enough. Because with wandering and foraging you have a greater chance to spawn items.

Yeah, sorry, I just meant walking around picking things up. I always use wander for that. I had forgotten there was a movement type called forage.
