Do mines eventually run out of walls that can be mined or they just get larger and larger?

Doing a quick search I came up with this

The mines are infinite (and every mineshaft is instanced, contrary to haven where you could mine into another person's cave).
However, at some point you will have dug out such a huge portion of the mine that you're better off building a new one than walking those vast distances (granted, not exactly applicable yet for most people/towns)

This is a great feature. We can make dungeons and labyrinths. Has anyone made any? If so, pics please. Can we hang stuff on mine walls by the way? WOuld be cool to be able to hang torches and other items to create "atmosphere".

They are probably not infinite, just extremely large.

We don't know if they're infinite or just extremely large. It's basically the same system as HnH had prior to w4. I asked there at one point, and nobody had ever exhausted a mine there, and there were much more active towns digging for ore then.

Sodom hit the edge of a gold mine, but mining took no preparing, and they only hit it by digging down one corridor.

Remember how long it was? 100 tiles? 500?
