Hello, and first off sorry if this is a waste of time and has be answered but.. when i click on launch game it gives me a file that is 2.3 kb and it's in a jnlp file format. I am on a mac book running 10.6.8
I'm not sure where to get the entire game client at... or if my client is just odd. But when i click it, it checks for software updates on my mac, then when it says up to date.. and does nothing else.
So, what am i to do?

You need Java to start the game. If you have intentions to use Ender's client Java 6 is preferable.

The standard game client can be loaded just after you login to the homepage. Just logout and back in again, and it should give you the option to download/run it.
you will need to get java, a simple google search will sort that out. Download and install.
If you want a modded client, please have a gander at the appropreate area of the forums. Each client has its own pros and cons.

more to the point, you will need java webstart ('javaws.exe' on windows, javaws on linux, so probs the same on Mac).
you can then simply run the jnlp file with java webstart. A good java installation should allow this to be done through the browser, though.

When I run it with java webstart it simply brings up the window for a computer software update. If i clicked my little apple button in the top right and then clicked software update it would do the exact same thing. It automatically has always been running with webstart.
The jnlp file is used to download the client correct...?
