Vests?

I'm wondering which if any clothing items go in to the vest slot on the equipment screen. I have yet to find anything that goes there in normal crafting (though i still have tier 1 cotton) It looks like farmer's jacket might fit there, but it says jacket soooo.... Anyone know?

And *is* there currently any metal plate items in the game? Have yet to find any or see any able to be crafted. Could be an oversight on my part bud can't find one.

There's the Adventurer's Vest, but you have to buy it in the shop. That's the only one so far.
