My friend and I are looking for a nice place to make a homestead. I had 1 homestead earlier but i dont really like it. I went to wilderness guide and choosed an option to get at a random place for a homestead. I change it 2 times (try again option). Than, my friend tried to find a nice place too and have used guide to random place him 3 times. Then he went away from his leanto and try again option disapeared. Then we both traveled back to Boston and discovered that we cannot speak to guide. We want to try again to find a good place, is that possible?

start a new character then yeah or start walking

So the wilderness guide is bugged? I was raising my character for the past few days and wanted to start settling somewhere but i cannot claim any land because i cant talk to this guy. please dont tell me to start a new characte coz i'm a person with real life and family and simply dont want to throw away my efforts because of a bug.

You dont need to talk to him, you need settling to claim land. Guide will only teleport you to a random location.

Also it's not a bug, in the update they removed the option to pay the wilderness guide 30 silver to redo a new location from what I understand. So even though you may not like it you have mainly 3-4 options on how you view it.
1.Start a new char and choose random location again.
2. Start a new char and teleport to someone with a good location already chosen and willing to take you in. You can do that by typing their homestead secret into the white box below the button when talking to the guide, then hitting enter on your keyboard and then finally hitting the new button that pops up in the place of the white box.
3. Walk...very...very...very far.
4. Accept the location he has given you, and make the best of it with the thought "It could be worse, he could of put me on a mountain with only a 10X10 area to walk around in and can't climb down".

If you already have built a character best option would be to walk to a new and better place.

Due to my curiousity i started walking.. had a nice long walk of like 5 hours that was only interrupted by walls i couldnt climb. I guess i found a nice spot now but my first "homested" was in dark and deep woods. I'd love to find those woods again an settle somewhere nearby with acces to water and grass lol..

Oh and my 3rd wilderness guide spot was on a mountain btw. Thats where i found out that ropes are harder to craft than i thought
