Wanted to ask what is Difficulty 50 to 40 on Crafts&arts at cloths. What does it do?

It is for slotting items into the gear. The lower the numbers the easier the piece of gear is to slot (if the proficiencies on the gear match the proficiencies on the artifice you are trying to slot).
