I am seeking the wisdom of my peers regarding this! Right clicking a bucket of water offers up two interesting options, Sip and Drink. However, doing either does not seem to produce a visible effect. Can anyone enlighten me to uses of these two options?

If you sip you get invisible to all others and leave no scents. When you drink you reappear.

You get a slight glutton and phlegm bonus

They don't do anything except make you drink water, which will slowly consume the water in the bucket. Then you will have an empty bucket. It is a bit slower than just clicking the 'empty' option on the bucket though.

aaah, troll information, reasonable information, and a contradiction. I assume it does nothing though, a holdover of H&H allowing you to drink water to get stamina back?

The first two are troll information, the last is reasonable information. It does nothing.
