Question about PUMPKINS

Postby fortune888 » Sat Jan 19, 2013 1:34 am

So, I heard pumpkins have three STAGE of GROWING? Which is why they take 9 days on WIKI? So, I ponder that means each stage is THREE DAYS?
So, I wander if for the sake of raising PURITY, is it better to harvest once every THREE DAYS, or wait for NINE DAYS to harvest?
My idea is that if the purity doesnt change every three days within nine days, then just harvesting at three days would be faster for purity, eh? Or am I just a big NOOB with crazy ideas humiliating himself asking this question?

You are humiliating yourself more with capitalizing.

Use coal to get the grow times down. 3rd stage is best for more seeds and flesh. It really don't take that long to get them up

Purity wise, yes, the first stage is best. Fill the field with coal for speed. Your only trouble is you'd not have many seeds, so some plenty fertilizers might be in order.

Bold or italic adds emphasis without the crudity.

Yes, it's better to harvest at the first stage if you have access to lime and particularly if you have access to coal and lime. (See what I did thar).

You need around 275% plenty to get enough seeds from first stage pumpkins to replant four fields. If I recall correctly at 100% plenty you get five pumpkins at the first stage of growth with each yielding six seeds and two flesh. Coal will get your speed up, 300% speed takes around 48hrs I think, I'm waiting on a field to ripen atm but I suspect it takes closer to four days to reach the first stage of growth.

Wouldn't it just be more cost effective to spam coal only without lime, so that you get 2nd or 3rd stage earlier?

I was told the later stages take two days regardless of speed bonus, and have not yet had time to test it.
