Finding Stray Chestnuts

Do these things drop when picking something else? I think I've found only one the whole time. According to the wiki, I think I'm looking in the right terrain.

They do not drop when you pick up something else. They are generally found in forests. I have found most of them in autumn forests.

It helps if you have the skill 'Nuts and Berries' to help you find more of them.
