I started playing this game recently and invited a friend to play with me, but I can't find how to bring him to my claim. I already searched the forums but can't find a clear answer.
What exactly I have to do?

He has to get the ability to use the wilderness guide first. Make sure he gets the skill for that.
Then you should set a hearthsecret and inform your friend about that. Then he talks to a wildernesguide and writes your password into the menu you get when talking to guide. Its important that he hits enter after entering and doesnt use the button.

My friend was lacking the survival skill. Everything went well now, thanks.

What if a password was never set. Will that option be forever lost?

You can set (or unset) a password at any time. When a friend is ready to go to your place via teleport travel, you can put in a password (make sure to set it) and he can use it to get there. If you want after you can change or delete your password.

Just out of curiosity, let's say the friend already wasted his use of the initial spawn, but has the 30s to spend, is there a method for porting to the homestead of the friend then, or not?

if he has ported, you can port to him - as long as he has a claimstone homesteaded there.
but if he wants to port to you with 30s after the free port - not anymore possible.

Aw that sucks. I'm trying to connect with a certain camp but I have no idea how to get there.

You have to walk. Party with your friend/friends then rightclick their portrait and select 'follow' to see in what general direction to move.(dont just follow arrows as they don't point at correct location if your party member is afk)

I also want to play with some friends, but I cant do it. When we try the things you mentioned (enter secret press enter and teleport), it does not work because it gives the message "The player has not settled yet.". But its ***** because i just settled with the wilderness guide 10 seconds ago, and i have my leanto. But my friend cant get there. I think the problem might be, that here settlig is not equal with setting up a leanto with the wilderness guide, but i need the personal claim stone thing. But it takes lots of time to get that skill and build a claim sign. And i dont want to grind alone. I want to play with my friend from the beggining, and start at a new place fresh. There is no way to do this?
