Help creating character

I am new to this game and need help please.

I am trying to create a character in Salem with the normal client and it will only let me become a pilgrim. I did the right code and verification and am able to login, but i am having issues spawning in. I use to play wow a lot and played on alliance and well, alliance is usually always losing to horde in WSG. I got tired of playing on my shammy and then I found this game.

I did some research before starting this game and saw that the indians are winning. I am tired of being on the losing team so i am willing to take the shame of "jumping the bandwagon" and joining the indians bcause I'm tired of wasting my time on a losing side. I'm forced to play as a pilgrim with my client. How do I change to an indian??? help please!

Everyone (as of current) can only be a pilgrim. There is a major faction run by a person claiming to be a chief. I think that's what you read about. He wore an Indian headdress that is now available in the shop (mystery hat box gives you a random hat, no guarantee of getting the headdress). There are threads discussing the ability to have indian clothes and possibly teepees or wigwams in the ideas section of the forum. As of right now everyone can make the same pilgrim like character, but you can change hair color and style. There are different clothes in the game (and hats) that can help you go in a different direction.
