Raising Phlegm

Hello,

I'm pretty noobish and I've been able to get my other stats up to the high-teens, but my Phlegm is still stuck at 6. Argh. Any recommendations as to the best foods to get the Phlegm up a bit? Hopefully nothing involving rare ingredients or exotic structures, please.

Snails [roasted/three virginians], roasted rabbit meat, Walk on the Wild Side, pumpkin pies.

Not sure what you'd consider an "exotic" structure, but a fairly early game recipe for Phlegm would be Wild Salad (Flowers & Berries skill). Takes a milkweed, oakworth and lilypad bulb, pretty sure it doesn't even need a firepit. Oatmeal Crackers are a pretty decent Phlegm food, too, and people sell them fairly cheaply in stalls (4-8 silver on Plymouth), though you may end up with Black Bile instead.

I personally went with the Wild Salad's, myself, since they're really easy to make and you can get all of the ingredients in the Boston area.

Only buy oatmeal crackers w/ high purity in Salt or Sulphur (red and green) to get phlegm

If you live near a dark forest or badlands (I believe?) you can hunt turkeys. Turkey cuts when roasted are a good <40 phelgm food if you prepare them in bulk. Rabbit cuts, and lean rabbit (just takes firepit) are other options for phlegm. Sizzled slugs are also good if you happen to see any lying around.

Wild salad is pretty good addition to this once you get that skill. They can be a pain to make though, so I liked supplementing the easier to find stuff into it as well.

OK, sounds good. Turkeys and oatmeal crackers are off the radar for now, and snails are too rare to really rely on, but I can do rabbit meat and wild salad. Been using my Wild Salads to keep me fed while building stuff, but I'll put them aside for my Gluttonizing instead. I was looking at the stats for the Rabbit stuff and it didn't look like it gave that much Phlegm compared to more highly-prepared stuff... is it that it's a fast-eating food that makes it valuable?

Definitely save the wild salads for gluttony. If you need an easy phlegm healer for building projects, crispy crickets are your friend.
