Is it really not possible to forage for Seeds?

Do you know if they have any plans on doing this sort of a thing later on?

They don't plan adding foraging for seeds.
You forage for indian stuff, make savage charms, sell em in boston and buy seeds or you hunt crickets, make cricket teams and sell em in boston.

The only seed you can get (currently) without buying (or someone giving it to you) is pumpkin. You forage new world gourds, plant them in pots, in which they will turn into one of four things. One of those is a baby bear pumpkin. You keep planting these in pots to get more until you can split them for enough seeds to plant in a field (with the pumpkin planting skill).
