Camouflage your settlement?

Is it possible to camouflage your settlement on the map so raiders dont spot it? I've noticed digging causes the the spot on the map to turn into the color brown. If you dont dig or lay stone but still build houses and farms, would you be invisible on the map? Note that i'm a noob atm and have not yet even build a house.

There is no way to hide on the map atm

The dirt is overgrown by the surrounding terrain overtime and you don't need to pave, so you can basically hide your settlement, yeah. Or I might be wrong. Not sure what needs paving and what not.

How will we be able to hide it in the future then? And how do you even know this?

Actually you can hide yourself from the map,
mine is invisible from the map now. I just waited for the ground tiles to regrow back to its former terrain.

No structure needs a pave floor afaik,
though most structures actually just need a dirt ground to be able to build them.

It's possible to do for certain, but the time it takes to regrow dirt into grass is rather large. Once it happens, if you avoid all paving you can upload minimap files to the map and the lack of terraformed land will show up. This takes months to do though for any even medium sized towns.

It goes a lot faster if you don't level everything, but rather just the minimal foundations needed for buildings.

My little hermitage has gotten to the point where there are only a few brown patches left where I dug. I don't know if the new Townhouses show up on the minimap, but I've got a farmer's house and basically everything else and it doesn't show.

It's not perfect camouflage, but someone skirting the edge of my area might pass by without seeing my claim on the minimap. I'm happy with that, much more than having the "aesthetic" of paving everything.
