some help for a random dude

Good day one and all

I have started playing this game a few days ago and its fun , though would like to ask a few
things as I am a bit of a complete 'noob' at this game .

For starters I watched the game on youtube.com and would like to know how to interact with
the map to make it bigger and to see the icons on it and such , as well so I can find where I
am on the map , do I need a specific skill trained or what ?

As well I would like to build my own town for the fun of it later on any info on that ?

lastly any links to a control list for the game as I can not seem to find the in game option
to list that for me .

sorry for asking so many things , just a little bit new around here

First simple answer: read Sevenless' Guide to the New World - Agri Purity update (sticky at the top of this forum)

If you want icons on your minimap and the ability to make it bigger, you really need one of the custom clients listed in the above guide. If you mean finding your location relative to other places, there is no mechanism other than the player sponsored project to map each of the server worlds (yes they are different) and searching the world map for recognized landmarks.

Building a settlement and eventually making it a town is a big part of the game and many of the details are in the wiki: http://salemwiki.info/index.php/Main_Page

most of the controls are probably covered in the in-game help pages (the ? icon in the main menu -- lower right).

Gives the default controls. The custom clients have extra controls, but those depend on whether you use enders or BD. (Sevenless' guide has links to both)

BD is outdated, install Ender's and get used to it as soon as you can
