World map and Purity

Hi there!
There is sticky up in this forum named "Frequently Asked Questions - Read before posting :) " which had a great link to world map. A few days ago it stopped working (server must be down or something).

So I was just wondering - is there any other public world map (Plymouth) you use? :?

And since, I've gone so far and made a new topic here, I'd like to ask another one:
Can anyone explain the concept and practical part of purity of things in Salem? How can you influence it or craft or grow or whatever?
Everything I found - is that purity is good for stats of items & that you can make higher purity items from higher purity material (so finding higher that 1.0 purity mine is good).
But how do you get higher purity mushrooms for example? Does the particular area influence on purity of stuff found in it?

Thanks!

The only world maps are the one linked above and for the other two colonies (Jamestown and Roanake) here: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1782. If the server is offline, you'll have to wait until it comes back up or someone hosts a new one. These are player ran sites, so they're subject to the whims of the site controller.

Purity acts as a multiplier to your goods. Right now it only has an effect on food and Inspirationals. Some items, such as metal bars, can come from better mines you have to keep searching for. Crops have a small modifier that will sometimes increase the purity (about a 50% chance from a post explaining it). You can use those crops to feed your compost bins and get better humus which you can use in gardening pots and grow some of the plants you forage for. For everything else, (animals, wood, etc.), there currently is no way of raising purity.
