My friend can't to teleport to me

Ok, I've started to play Salem couple of days ago.
Today I've invited my friend. I would like to play with him, but when he comes to Guide and type my homestead secret, it says "that player has not settled"
What should I do?

you need to buy a homestead from the shop in town and set it up

Specifically, purchase a Writ of Homesteading from the Company Store (not someone's stall) in town. Go back to where you want to settle and build your claim. You'll need to mark it as your homestead at least until anyone you want to join you does. You'll need the skill Settling to accomplish this.

I realized tonight that people are still messing up the homestead teleport due to the fact that they don't hit enter after typing in the secret, so I just thought this would be a good thread to remind everyone to type in the secret and hit enter to lock it in before actually teleporting.

People are going to keep messing this up until the UI is changed to make the process more intuitive. The people messing up are almost always new players, some who won't even come to the forums for the first time until this doesn't work.
