Dowsing rods

Postby DashNair » Wed Dec 05, 2012 1:18 am

Hello there, I have to questions about this particular item:

1_ Purity on Downsing rods will lead to higher purity mines by ignoring the 1.0 purity mines?

2_ Why are pilgrims looking for high Lead, mercury, etc dowsing rods?. With a mine I can only craft metal items.. none of them works for gluttony.. so I don't see the point in this . Any reason behind this?, I MUST be missing some important point ^^"

Edit: As for question 2: It came to my mind that, MAYBE, pilgrims want high lead dowsing rods so that they can get high lead dross to influence they seeds. If that's the reason.. I have to say there are some hardcore farmers out there :S

There is no use for the different purity mines anymore. When using dross as a fertilizer, you used to be able to spike the purity of your crops in the same direction as the dross...but purity effects of fertilizers have been removed. If people already know this, then they might be looking for different purity mines for later down the road when metal objects will have some use other than making lockets to study.

Lead is/was a little op for foods. Farmed foods of the lead variety cover all 4 stats fairly powerfully, although not as good as other purity types could. Point was you could get good returns off raising a single purity, instead of better returns off raising all 4. Lot less effort.
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

Mine purity grinding is abit pointless at the moment, thanks to the upkeep on claims mechanic and general lack of use for high purity ore.
