I sent up a leanto next to a big patch of clay since it was flat. I noticed I couldn't build the leanto on the clay? Can you place structures on clay or does it just have to be flat/ and on your claim footprint? I don't want to expand my patch there if I can't place anything directly on the resource..... Im thinking i just wasted 150 silver.

You cannot build on top of a clay node.
