I logged in and was already KO by 5-6 guys. I lost everything and the last thing I saw was one of them stealing from my settlement.
I can't log in, my character is vanished!?!

Do I have to create a new one?

Sounds like you got summoned because you committed a crime that left summonable evidence, and also sounds like your character is dead so ya you will need to make a new one.

I didn't commit any crime at all. I don't understand. I logged off Friday night just outside my settlement. I log in today and everything is gone.
I need an explanation from a Mod please.

Due to timing issues you may still be seeing a loading screen when your character actually enters the game world. You logged in while your farm was being raided by bad people, who immediately attacked and killed you.

Your character is dead.

And now?
I start over again?
The game-hours I spent? The real money I spent?
Gone just like that?
Ok, I agree there is crime in game. They can steal some things from you. But everything?
the proficiences that was a pain in the ... to improve? Start again from zero?

You can inherit your claim, other than that, you lose your character when you die [all the proficiences, humours and skills] and you lose whatever is stolen/destroyed.

I've played so many games for so many years. I've been one of the greatest fans of Paradox.

Most of us here like the game because it's open PvP and permadeath, but I can definitely see how it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea. The main problem here is that it's not made clear enough to new players just what they're getting themselves into. I have been bugging Moo to get the Paradox guys to make it more clear (specifically, I asked for a disclaimer on the shop website), though, so that should change in the future.

If you don't quit the game, next time don't give out your homestead secret like that in the trading forums. Your best defense is the fact that people have to find you first.
