Snack Food Suggestions

Postby Maeglus » Sat Dec 01, 2012 12:04 pm

Hello all,

I'm running a medium sized hermitage with a focus on farming and I love getting stuck into my hermit chores every day.

What I find distracting is running low on Phlegm and then having to go get myself fed, kinda like in real life I guess :D

Currently the best value for money snack food to restore my Phlegm seems to be Lumberjack Frikadel, with more complicated foods going towards my Gluttony stash for when it is time to binge eat.

My question is, as you approach your 50 biles plus, is there a better, similarly accessible snack food to keep your Phlegm topped up?

I've had a look at the wiki and filtered by heal values for Phlegm but most things better than the Frikadel require a lot more effort to produce.

I guess what I am asking is what do more advanced independent players find to be their convenient Phlegm restoring snack food of choice?

Roasted crickets and turkey cuts heal for 10 phlegm. But, if I were you I would work on getting the purity of your cabbage up and eat that instead...its not too hard to get 60+ humour regens with one head of colewort (6 leaves).

Personally I use buddies on a stick while my farms/coops are getting set up, you can find fishing spots that will pretty much guarantee you catch the right 2 fish most of the time, for the sake of 30 mins work you can get enough food to keep you going for hours.

How easy is catching Cod? Cod Rolls in Lobster Sauce look good.

Semi rare fish type. They take metal lures I believe so xnay that idea.

My general rule of thumb is avoid anything with wood inputs for healing foods. Wood becomes a real commodity once you've been in an area long enough.

Turkey meat, crackers, meat pies are definitely my favorites.
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

I second the recommendation for crispy crickets. I was using berries on a straw and fish in the reeds for quite a while, but I found myself going through them far too quickly while digging out and flattening my claim. Once I realized how quickly I could kill and cook crickets over my fireplace, they became my food of choice. Once the purity on my grain gets up then I might move up to oatmeal crackers, but for now they're worse than the crickets.
