use the destroy button. if you are not doing enough damage then increase your phlegm

I read somewhere that you cannot Destroy until you have 25 Phegm. Is this true?

For a stone hedge, the soak is 25. You will not do any damage if your phlegm drops below 25 when you are destroying the fence. That means you need to have much higher than 25 phlegm to do any noticeable damage to it. I think the soak on a split-rail fence is 15, not sure though.

I think the soak is lower than 15. That said, I burned through a whole bunch of 9.5 food destroying two fence tiles with 18 phlegm.

The soak on Split-rail is at least as low as 12 (mine), because I was able to whack my fence and deal damage.
Edit: Wiki says 5 for Split-rail Fence.
