So is there any point to gardening at the moment? You cannot increase the purity of things you grow.

Yes you can. Use higher purity soil.

Yes you can, just make humus out of high purity crops. And peppers and sunflowers are well worth the humus even without purity pushing.

I hate gardening but peppers and onions are great for higher foods, and sunflowers are very good for grinding out stocks and cultivar. I also grow devil's wort because I use that for foods and flower arrangements. As far as this humus thing for higher purity, I feel like the water REALLY dilutes it but perhaps I need higher purity humus, have only tried 20ish percent. I'm curious if the purity of the plant when planted also contributes as well, which would mean an interesting grind to get higher and higher purity every round of planting.
Frankly I feel the game needs a better "gardening pot", perhaps one you can put 3 plants in instead of one. Having to individually prepare so many pots at a time is terrible.

I didn't realise you could purity grind humus, still it boils down to the only thing you can purity grind being farming.

One of the best blood foods in the game can only be made by gardening, dragon breath salads. If you can get your plant purity to 10%+ it will hardly dillute the green cabbage used in the recipe (provided you are using the same elements on the devils wort and garlic as the green cabbage).
Also, regular garlic (used in stuffed turkeys and garlic bread) can only be grown in pots.
Mercury flavor mushroom pies are awesome, and you can grow mercury sugar caps, but you'll most likely never be able to reach beyond a x3 multiplier on those.
These are just a few uses that I have for gardening pots.

Not to mention, getting your first baby bear pumpkins (from new world gourds) to replant until you have enough pumpkin seeds to plant (since you cannot buy pumpkin seeds from Boston).
