Question re: Builds

Postby Zephyr40k » Mon Nov 26, 2012 11:10 pm

Hello,

So I've been playing this game for about a week now and am enjoying it. I've gotten to the point where new skills will require a significant investment of time, and I want to follow the "single-use tool" philosophy. That is, don't make a jack-of-all-trades character.

So I'm planning on making a few alts and having each one specialize in something. So I'm curious, what are some of the common builds for characters? Metalworking/blacksmith/mechanics? Farming? masonry? I'm sure combat is its own very specific build type. I couldn't find any published character builds on this forum.

Just have one main, the investment into one main character is much less than if you were to have several 'main' characters. Never fight with your main, and always :lo at sign of danger and relog a combat character. Combat characters take very little time to develop if you have a jack of all trades main character to feed them.

Yeah, there's a lot of overlap in proficiency requirement between different skill branches, so you'd be doubling a lot of your work if you made different characters for different industries.
