Fishing Issues / Fishing Lures

Having a few issues with fishing lures. I use a tasty sinknot and within seconds the wear on it, is gone and I catch nothing. Same issue with cricket moth lures. Basically, I start fishing and the wear goes down on these lures super fast and I don't get a single bite. Are there areas in the game where there are no fish? Can a lake or a river be fished to the point where they are gone? I caught a few fish when I was just beginning, using worms. But since then, I have only caught one fish using a lure. I have been fishing in the same location and moved up and down a bit, but nearby the same spot. If anyone has more info, it would be much appreciated.

there are some areas where certain luretypes won't catch anything. Seaweed bobber thing doesn't catch anything in lakes/rivers, but does ok in the ocean.

For moth/sink you should be ok if you try rivers and lakes.

In general lures seem to wear too quickly. There's also an entirely different "system" for lures as opposed to using worms as bait.

With worms, there is no wear. The worm is only taken when you catch a fish, or it gets away. The rod also never seems to take any wear. With a lure, the rod and the lure both take damage, often at a ridiculous rate.

I'd avoid fishing with a lure unless your Frontier & Wilderness is particularly high, or you simply have to have fish and can't get any worms. I've had lures wear entirely before I even get a single bite far more times than I can count, and it's infuriating.

Is Razzle-Tazzle lure "immune" to wear? (It should be considering it costs 400 silver.)

Thank you for the responses. For now, I put fishing on the back shelf. When I create a lure and drop it in the water and within 30 seconds the lure is gone and I have not even got a single bite...that makes the skill have little value to me. Maybe later I will relook at it.

It is probably worth starting with earthworms since they are free byproducts of digging and composting.

As far as the razzle-dazzle lure is concerned, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see it decay, one hopes, at a slower rate.

Does anyone know now how fast the Razzle-Tazzle lure wears?
