Hello and good day

I put 4 limed hides in my tanning tub last night used 1 10L bucket of water with a brain and put it in the tanning tub. I come on this morning i have 1 leather and 3 limed hides 98% to 99% done .. I know before when i used just 1 bucked of 10L water and a brain it tanned all 4 hides .. this a bug due to update? or working as intended?

Apparently the bug was fixed, its now working as intended. You now need 10L of tanning fluid per hide. In your case just add another 30L of tanning fluid and your hides should be done within a couple of minutes.

Is this serious? I brain per leather now?

Anyone else think this is overkill to make leather? Not only should a large animal provide more than one hide (yes bears are HUGE) but one brain should make more than one leather.

Thoughts?

Brains are easy to get, I drop them in boston for the lulz and jorb said they plan to introduce more tanning fluids. Just be glad you still get the leather as fast as before.

The same has been happening to me, every time, for weeks. If there was a fix for it, it is not working. I had this bug just this morning: I removed the 1 completed leather and added another bucket of fluid (after an hour search for a brained creature) and 1 single leather was completed with the tub going empty again. So, the second bucket I added took one hide from about 98% to 100% and did nothing for the other two hides.

You need 10L of water and 1 brain for each piece of leather. It is working as intended now.

You misunderstand, it was a bug to begin with that one brain was enough to make four hides. That bug has now been fixed which means it requires four brains worth of tanning fluid to tan four hides.

My biggest annoyance with it is that every deer, beaver, bear, or march hare I kill drops a brain and a hide, so any extra hides I get, such as the one from the thanksgiving package or any from rabbits are essentially always excess, because I will always have more hides than brains.

Would be nice if we could get a method for creating tanning fluid from oak bark like we had in Haven. Another possible solution to my issue in particular would be to give us another use for limed hides. In reality, limed hides can be used for making rawhide.

Why would you ever use Beaver/Bear hides for tanning? They are worth more silver before tanning, would be ridiculous to use them to make leather. That's where you can get extra brains.

Considering a rabbit gives the same amount of leather as a bear, it seems silly to tan the bear hide instead of selling it. To me, the fact that a rabbit gives the same amount of leather as a bear is a bigger issue than the fluid. It should be based on the critter size like it was in H&H. Small critters give one leather, big critters give four. That makes a hell of a lot more sense.
