I've read some of these forums, and I've seen people mention "summoning" somebody online. What does this mean? Does this mean you can force somebody to log in somehow? If its nothing, please delete this, thanks

If you have evidence and have found the criminals claim/leanto, you can use that evidence to summon their character into the game so you may exact punishment even if the criminal is offline.

oh wow, that's rather crazy, okay, does the character get teleported to the lean-to, or just logged on wherever it was logged off?

Teleported. For bonus points, destroy the leanto and they get instagibbed instead.

if you destroy their leanto, you have to summon them at your own homestead, and they will be instakilled.
