Hey, I'm trying to get my philosophy up from about 1200 to 3000 so I can get Botany. Do you guys have any tips or strategies for getting this one up? I've noticed a lot of inspirations give it, but not much

FAQ: I'm new and trying to raise proficiency XXXX. What should I use?

Look at the list, nearish the top there's an inspiration that can be crafted fairly easily. Tis my suggestion.

How I would do it is from 1200-2000 I'd walk along a beach/waterfront and make seaweed Masque in conjunction with some smooth stones/beautiful seashells you might find along the way. Then from 2000 up I'd go cricket hunting and get cricket violins. They are quite a rare drop, but the good thing is you can make cricket teams and earn money while you are at it, and money is always useful especially if you haven't started mining/smelting yet since that takes quite an upfront cost to start.

If you aren't near any water/beach then it might be kind of hard. Stuffed Leather balls are good, but you'd need to already be farming and tanning since it requires cotton and leather. You can look in old stumps for earthworm pythons, but they seem to be more rare than Singing Old Logs. Brains also do a decent amount but that would be a lot of hunting of beavers/deer to get a useful amount.

I might go cricket hunting! I got to 2500 through flower arrangements + Minerological surveys, but now I need a bunch to get any further. I think a couple violins will help the rest of the way.

Couple violins... I hunted around 50-60 crickets and got only 1 violin. So don't count on it

Made 200s while you were at it as well. It's not the quickest method, but it is killing two birds with one stone.

Do remember with enough variety curiosities you can level essentially as much as you want with what you used. Out of laziness I did the whole 3k with spinning tops I do believe. We had lots of misc inspirations sitting around.

I see. So its better to mass produce Spinning Tops since they can be made with easily obtained wood blocks, use a few, add in a variety curiosity such as my flower arrangement, then do a couple more spinning tops, then do a different variety curiosity like a minerological survey, rinse repeat? Makes sense! I just need a lot more various inspirationals, though.
