sled vanished from friend?

a buddy of mine left his sled laying just beside a friends homestead lastnight and took off to do a few things, its a very infrequently traffic'd area and was very late at night, so the odds of someone walking by and taking off with it were slim, but might have happened. so the question is, if a sled is left off of a homestead for a period of time, will it vanish like normal dropped items will? (ie the game simply makes it vanish, not talking about theft)

More than likely if the sled wasn't on claimed property, it was stolen. Sleds are not something you should leave laying around outside of a claim.

Sleds decay like anything else I beleive, but I'm fairly certain they're not that fragile.

Why did he leave it beside a friend's homestead? If it was a friend's homestead, I would have left the sled on his property to make it harder to steal. Anything left unattended on unclaimed property is asking to be taken.

Hell sleds can be carried on your back. Outside locked/claimed walls and that sled is a goner on any server. Let alone if it's a young server.

hehe it was VERY late we were hauling him some lime from a deposit he had claimed, his friend loans him his smelter, i was at my house, id left the friends, and i saw some beavers, he came to get them cause hes after the meat, and well, it was one of them... 15 mins later " oh **** i left my sled over at friends house..." type things lol we got back had been maybe 15-20 mins and it was gone lol so i was just curious if they decayed like other things and maybe it vanished, or more than likely some guy walked by and said to himself "hmm lookeee there!" type things lol thanks for the replys tho, hes made another and will be more careful now im sure lol.
