confused about property

Postby Deacon » Sun Nov 18, 2012 4:46 am

I built a leanto, and made it my homestead...I've built up around the area, and would like to buy the property. I also have my two other alts here..can they build once it is mine, if i make them my kin?

how do i actually buy the land, and how do i determine where center of purchased land will be? can i make a house and transfer my homestead to it?

oh, and how do i 'kin' my alts, to allow them to live on my land?

thanks in advance...sorry so many questions, but got tired of looking thru forums trying to find exact answers

Buy a personal claim, the center is where you build the claim object. It starts off 5x5, you expand it as you wish.

Use hearth secrets to kin. Set them on your alt and add them. They can be added to the property and have full rights.
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

Your claim stake is what you transfer your homestead to; it is weird porting into the middle of the pillar, but it doesn't hurt, in fact it sort of tickles. You can have multiple houses on that property.

Once you set your claim stake, you can expand the original 5 x 5 rectangle in any direction (N, S, E, W) independently -- unlike Wurm where the pillar is always in the center of the property (my current property was expanded 4 tiles to the north and about 30 tiles to the south, as well as east and west).

As far as I can tell, if your alts use the port to hearth secret, they will end up with leantos on that property and, I believe, they need those leantos to port back and forth to boston (although, you may want to make new ones for them in convenient spots inside your compound). Of course, your alts can each develop their own claim if they don't play well together.
