What happens when my character dies?

Say i have a land claim, what happens to that?

Also, do you have to make a completely new character or do you get the chance to make an upgraded one?

You only inherit your claims. Talk to the guy with a metal hat iirc when your making a new character.

You also retain ownership of any un-withdrawn silver in the bank and unretrieved item packs.
