Drop your inventory and go to the adventure menu and teleport to boston.

OR

Find your leanto and teleport to boston

or use a custom client, Ender's or BDSalem or whatever suits you so the camera doesnt spin, or make your own maps.

but once you are lost, then doing what dallane said above will probably be the only option.

you can always obtain more items later. id recommend you to consume best items you have, and drop others to teleport.

but if you must insist, party with your friend and ask him or her to be in town and stay there till you walk back. (you can click your friend's icon so you will see which direction.)
or if you havent made any friends yet, make an alt, find someone in town, ask him or her to party with your main so you can find a way there. he or she may charge you some silver, or he or she may be bored enough or nice enough to stand there for you...depends on your luck.
