What level of a mine is arguably the most efficient to find silver? i know the deeper the better but i dont want to use a ton of regen food for 1-2 tiles

Level of a mine has no effect on the ammount of silver.
It is completelly rng based, so some levels are more 'populated' than others.
Your best bet is just to mine and keep notice of black walls.
More often than not you will have an silver node nearby.

I would say the first level is most efficient just for the difference in Phlegm cost to mine. But yeah, the distribution should be the same on all levels.

Does silver spawn inside the hard walls?

Yeah, they can spawn in the middle of black walls.

rly ? i think silver/gold + pure dependent by lvl a mine

i have found large deposits within big circles of black rock biggest score was a 60x60 black rock inside there was around 25x15 of silver

and you used campfires to burn your way in? or was there a string of ore on the edge allowing you to dig in?

i have found silver ore several times and it was never close to black tiles. it is probably random.
