The maximum possible value was estimated by taking the sum of all the S/C Values in the wiki, and then adding to that 2.34 (found by adding up the learning ability %'s and then subtracting 1) times the value of the best in game curiosity for S/C currently multiplied by the number of unique curiosities in game. At the time of this post, there were 81 unique inspirational reported on the wiki. This would consume 1134 inspirationals, 1053 of which would be beaming proud sunflowers. All purities were assumed to be 1.00 for this particular test.

The maximum level of stocks and cultivars obtainable at 1.00 purity is 6467 using this math. If it were possible to get purity 10.00 beaming proud sunflowers (which it is not as of current) and all other curios were 1.00, the maximum possible value is 61171 levels of stocks and cultivars.

Edit: If you had lvl 6467 S/C, and got the full plenty bonus from planting. The field would generate 131.34 ears of cereals (rounded up to 132 the way the game does it). This would fill 5.5 inventory+backpacks, and would be enough seeds if threshed to replant 262.68 fields at 50% upkeep.

So you are trying to say that we won't be able to get horiculture unless more s & c curios are introduced? I find this pretty hard to believe at the moment, granted I'm only at ~4k s & c but it has not yet become a problem raising it thus far (without sunflowers).

With 6467 S&C you can get Red Soil Farming. It allows you to farm on Mars, and the prerequisite is Planetary Terraforming. Notice that you need to build a Mayflower Spaceship to get there, and that farming on Mars only becomes possible after the Atmospheric Magnetron project has been completed somewhere on the Mars map.

Stax, I said levels. Add on 2 zeros to that number for the actual proficiency points.

I actually hope they add this skill in game. There's red soil in PEI, an island in the gulf of saint laurence just to the north of where this game is supposedly set in. The soil is notoriously good for growing potatoes (sorry irish kids, but you just can't escape the whole red colour thing here).

Can anyone say baked potatoes?

Mars, huh. I'm sure we'll be able to get at least a new Curiosity there.

What is the purpose of this information, Sevenless? Just fun to have or does it serve any real use? ;)

I would be very scared if I had a character with 6467 S/C...

With the way loftar explained the mechanics of the Inspriationals and Learning Ability, there really isn't any cap to the proficiencies. So far, there really isn't any need for one.
