lost my money bag and mask

Postby pendragon15 » Sat Jan 07, 2017 9:40 pm

Hi,
who do I contact when I went to sleep in my house and work up without my moneybag (kings purse) and my Miasma Masque.
I am not happy that I have lost items I paid real cash for without being killed or being warned...
I might stop playing if this is not resolved

Warning: Salem features permanent death and an open loot system, which means that any items bought here might be lost in game.

I guess you saw this warning before buying anything from store. Did you have claim and walls to protect you?

I was on my claimed land in a house with locked doors... I had the items before I slept (and did not die)

In salem you can steal from leantos and claimstones. Turn your tracking on and see if there is any scents on the ground.

Where your character is logged out doesn't matter, where your homestead is is important for stealing from offline players.

Get your homestead on your claim, surround it with walls, lock all doors so only you can enter and build braziers behind your walls so people get attacked when they try to destroy your walls. All of these things require certain skills to be done, so you might want to check out the wiki.

At the beginning you should not invest in item shop stuff, because it is very valuable to raiders/thiefs, first you should focus on building your defense. Try to invest as much as you find into your character and town, don't horde all the nice stuff you find because that's what the raider is after. Sell it, then you can either buy stuff you need or store the silver in the bank.
Some people are so busy learning the tricks of the trade that they never learn the trade.

It's possible for a criminal to "lewt" your stuff directly off your character through your homestead, aka your leantoo or claimstone. Work on defenses... better walls, torches, braziers, etc. Until then put your valuables in a chest in your house for the time being. They'll have to burn the house down to get to it.. at least until JC puts in lockpicking. With that said.. keep an eye on the forums so you'll know when lockpicking gets installed.

You don't need to try to scare the guy. We would like to add a lockpicking skill some day, but we have not yet decided on any of the mechanics, nor do we have a schedule for when it will be put in, nor will it be anything like a free pass that just lets people into your base/house.

I hope this... mechanics does not give easy access to pclaima ... when builds all the walls etc .. spend many time...
and open gates for Town Bell and destroy IT :P
