A few newbie questions

Firstly, do you retain all your equipment when you die, like when you're KO'd? Would my new character inherit my clothes and coin purse, for example? My coin purse especially I wouldn't want to lose, or any clothes I might get from one of the packs for sale in the store. Of course, I'm not anticipating dying any time soon, but one never knows, so I wanted to be certain of these things beforehand.

Secondly, are there any pictures of different clothes anywhere, so you know what something looks like before you craft/buy it?

And finally, I know there's turkeys and turkey coops in the game, and I've seen horses in videos. Are horses currently in the game? I played Haven & Hearth and really enjoyed animal husbandry, so I'm eagerly awaiting more animals to be implemented.

Thanks!

The wiki doesn't have pictures of clothes yet, that I can see, but thanks anyway!

Yeah, I figured I already knew the answer about death, but I wanted to be sure.

Actually, I stand corrected. The wiki has some pictures of clothes, but I was especially hoping for pictures of the outfits that come in the packs in the store. It's nice to know exactly what you're getting.

It's an "unofficial" wiki because we don't get a thing from the devs for loading into the wiki. Everything that's been gotten has been from research and screen shots.

1) die =/= ko (animals in salem cannot murder you, only ko you.)

2) when you are ko'ed(knocked out) by animals, you keep your clothes and coin purse in your equipment slot, but you will lose a few skills and the things in your inventory will be dropped where you were and you get teleported back home (or the main town if no homestead yet). you might be able to pick them up if you can go back fast enough unless they get stuck under built objects or cliff and such.

3) when you are ko'ed by your own criminal actions or other players, it is up to the claim owner or the player who knocekd you out. he or she, or possibly a passer-by, would most likely loot your body and strip you off. even if nobody looted, the things in your inventory would be dropped at where you were ko'ed. (and if you are ko'ed on someone else's claim, you are stuck there for 24 hrs or untill someone kills you or be kind enough to release you.)

4) when you die, you will lose everything including skills, stats, clothes, keys, coin purse and all, but your claim. all you can inherit is your claim you bought and you will have to start over from a scratch, which is different from H&H.

atm horses only spawn when jorb or loftar summons them.

(edit: to clarify, jorb replied to animal husbandry question in that vid.)

for fashion, not much yet, but you can check them out a little bit. hopefully we get more soon.

When you are KOed you everything you had in your inventory will be dropped on the ground, except for coin purses and coins (I mean those in inventory, not only the one equipped). Your equipment will stay on you though, and you will be ported to your homestead (Boston if you have none).

Okay, this concerns me a bit, because what if you spent real money on coin? Again, I'm not expecting to get killed, but there's not much you can do about griefers in a game like this. In H&H, death was a bummer but par for the course, and I'm okay with that, but if in Salem you're losing things you paid real money for, that's certainly a bigger deal than time and a character lost.

Thanks for all the info! I appreciate it.

C'est la vie. when you lose your stuff, its gone forever unless it is due to a confirmed bug or wipes (which are not planned).
(i believe coins generated from game without spending cash will not get refunded, no records of buying silver at paradox side and all, iirc.)

for details, you'd better ask TotalyMoo in person or wait for his direct reply or a FAQ thread, to avoid confusion or any potential changes.

The trick is not to carry much coin -- invest it in things in your claim. Then you only have to worry about people destroying your structures made with purchased nails and iron or towns covering your claim and taking over your stuff.

Actually, the best way to approach purchased silver and items is to consider them consumables that buff your game play at the time of purchase rather than as long-term investments.
