I have been looking for some Mytle Oak acorns and leaves. Are they just a higher level foraging than I have?

You don't get them from foraging. They grow on those green bushes on plains and grasslands. It may happen that particular bush doesn't have any leaves left if other people already picked all of them

They do "regrow" over time, but it can be a very slow process.

As with maple leaves and thorns, the trick is to wander away from where others are playing. If I am near boston, I rarely find acorns; however, if I find grassland out in the wilds, I usually do find acorns and leaves on the myrtle oaks.
