I launch the client : nothing happens

I an really eager to try this game. I got my key, registered the character name then downloaded the client , using Win10 and it gives me the option to open it. When I do , nothing happens. I tried opening it with edge and also IE. So what am I doing wrong ?

It is an Java Client, have you installed Java?

Yes, Java has been installed 8.101. The game client doesn't install.

for future reference to others, can you post what solved it?
@people with similar problems: make sure you open the JNLP file with C:\Program Files\Java\<version>\bin\javaws.exe (java web start), and nothing else. If your java install went well, Windows should know what to do, though.

You will also need to add salemthegame.com to your java security list, depending on which version of Java you are running ... slightly older versions allow you to click through the security prompt, newer versions require the site to be explicitly listed in the exceptions.

yes, but this will pop up a warning message, so it is not really relevant here.
