I know it's still beta so wipes are possible, but I have noticed that it is possible to purchase from the store. So my question is: Is the game "official" or is any progress we've made right now going to be wiped?

The plan is no wipes, but being beta, there is never any guarantees on this.

Thanks for the info. However, If someone spends cash on something like silver how would they be compensated for their purchase if it is lost due to a wipe?

Honestly i wouldn't worry about a wipe. The only way its going to happen is if something MASSIVE came up. Your question should be aimed to Moo send him a PM or wait for him to reply to this in a few hours.

I'll ask another question then - will there be new servers at lauch?

I'm thinking of training up abit on the current servers and then buying stuff from the shop on the next.

no idea. just play and have fun. silver really doesn't give that much of a advantage at the start.

Adventures pack can give you advantage you get sword, backpack + useful skills, maybe it is not cheap, but nice for newbie hunters.

Saves you about 3 hours of play time and you get the awesome rapier. I think all the packs are excellent deals, i would love to see how much people have spent on them.

I believe there is an official statement somewhere, but this is what I found: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/sho ... st14159584. There may well be something concrete on this, but I haven't ran across it yet. I don't want to say something that is completely wrong.
