So its time to create new set of hunting threads. I find myself torn on which is the best way to refit my new hunting set. A part of me wants to go strait damage, but when faced agaisnt terrifying monsters, is it best to have better defense. Or a combination of the two. Im not trying to make it the most expensive set, so not bothering with spider sacs, bear claws or pearls. But all the other rare stuffs sure.

I guess what i am asking is how do i make above average hunting cloths? Maybe see what some of you are wearing to compare.

for most Darkness monsters i bet most people prefer a raw Piercing set like this





my set is not finished but with 369 Piercing and 700 yellow bile i do about 130dmg with a Thrust wich is quiety nice

holy crap! seeing how the darkness monsters murder, would i be ideal to have defense to prevent from dieing? Or is it just better to kill it before it kills you?

id ask Nikixos he fights Darkness stuff i saw a FurFur hit him for 150+150+150 dmg in 3 seconds/3hits im not sure defense matters there much but ask him he might tell how to fight them.

Only darkness monster you'll need a defense set for is darkenbears, all the others you can just use a full offensive set.

i kill Furfur when i deal ~50-70 dmg easy...
if 130 dmg.. then more fast kill furfur

for a normal player it's expensive build for that items...
needle... i pick so many hays from... nad never got needle...
kill so many bears and never...

The best is piercing set (like heff mentioned about it) against monsters and with +400 bilies you can easy killing most of them.
The piercing set is the best for hunting, but people mostly using it in pvp what is not really good idea.

What about drakenbears? What is a good humor amount to take them on, and is it possible to solo them? If so do you penetrate them to death? I understand they are immune to stuns, but dose a club still proc the mini stun on them?

Of course not. Try kill it with really good Impact Power Set and Halberd
