The game replaces one ore with one bar of whatever. If you calculate it perfectly, you can place a single silver ore in the place where the bar will be and iron or something everywhere else and get your one bar per one ore. It's pretty tricky, but you can probably figure it out yourself pretty well.

Another question. Sometimes on place of ore in smelter I get an empty space, no dross, no bars. What does it mean?

If it was a spot that ore was in then it should have produced one or the other. That is strange.

Well, yesterday I filled 6 smelters with 10 ore and 15 lime, light it with a set of 570 alloying and went to sleep. Today I discovered in these smelters no single ingot, only dross and a few empty cells where ore was. I do not understand. Is it a bug? No one could pick them up, because I live alone in my town, all walls are safe and there is no any scents.
