not sure if gemcutting is bugged here, but i have quiety good M&M, and just tried to cut gems





does anyone know if a 3 in 128 is a normal chance or if its bugged?

it's way worse than i usually get, but I doubt that it is bugged - nothing has changed recently, after all AFAIK, natural philosophy also plays a part in it ?

M&M affects the hardness level when sifting rubble. The hardness level of the uncut gem + hardness modifier based off the type of gem being made affects the chance of successfully cutting the gem.

Like MaxPlanck said, only the M&M from the person who got a gem while sifting is important.
Usually, i cut 50% or more percent of the gems the i get in starburst ones.

Yeah base hardness is the big key, that's why I sift on a 5 M&M alt when I need more shards for paving

gem shard paving should seriously add insanity whenever you walk over it.
