house/losing silver on pdeath

Hi again

I'm thinking about advancing to my first house here. So I learned the skill and gathering money to buy nails and stuff.
Just wondering...

1. When somebody kills me, my character is dead. What happens to my house then?
2. How do I allow my alt to enter my house? Is it his "home" then as well? If not, is it possible to do that?
3. It seems not possible to store items somewhere safe - what happens with my silver when my char is killed by another player? I mean - if I spend realmoney here - is it lost then?

If your character is killed then all items are lost.
When asking about house - do you mean claim? If so, then your alts don't have access to your claim just like that. To give them access you will have to kin them (through homestead secret would be easiest), then assign them some color in buddy list, and then right click on your claim stone and assign permissions to the color you chose. After that your alt will have the permissions.

The claim is your old character's until you reincarnate, so your alts will have access to it until then if they had permissions in the first place.

Well, this is kinda demotivating, when I think about investing realmoney here and someone can just take it from me... or some of the numerous bugs cause this... I wonder what makes you accepting that oO Feels like a slotmachine...

Can't find informations about "homestead secret" - do I enter the char name of my alt there? And then the alt is automatically my main's kin?

Just a note, when you reincarnate the claim is that character's, it dosen't disappear.

Homestead secret: Click Ctrl + B or the button with the 2 pilgrim heads. The 1st box on the bottom will be your secret if you type something in and press enter. If you have a claim stone, people can spawn there from the guide. Spawning from guide makes them kin automatically. The 2nd box you can type someone's HS in and it will make both the character's kin without spawning at them.

Each character can set its own homestead secret in its buddy list. You can use this homestead secret (also in buddy list) to kin somebody when he is offline / away, and even to spawn new characters at their lean-to.

As for keeping stuff safe - most people create alt-vaults. It's an alternate character to which you give all important items and keep it logged off. You log to it only when you need to take some items. This way this character won't be killed by anyone
